Untitled Sneak Peek by MCM in RollBots / September 19th, 2007

The latest issue of Kidscreen Magazine (not yet online) has an ad for a show I may or may not know about. It may not be obvious to the casual observer, but it’s more than just a pretty picture. If you can find the magazine anywhere, you should have a bit of fun with it.

Just because I’m a crazy kinda person, I created an alternate version of the ad which you can see below. In total, there are 3 of these ads (the last appears in a forthcoming issue of TV Kids magazine). The clues from all 3 add up to something quite nifty. But I won’t tell you what :)

Mattel News by MCM in RollBots / September 4th, 2007

Here’s an article informing us that Mattel has signed up to do toys for RollBots. I promised (myself, mostly) I wouldn’t talk about RollBots except in reaction to meaningful press releases like this one, so the lack of posting of late is due to the majority of my time being taken up with something I can’t talk about. Ha.

Yes, I am bouncing up and down right now.

Anyway, I’ve got no more insight into this particular subject. I just wanted to record the moment for posterity. Or something.

The Green Chain by MCM in RollBots / June 20th, 2007

This will sound a lot more confused than it is. On RollBots, one of the writers is a cool guy named Mark Leiren-Young… he’s made a movie called The Green Chain, which (to snag the text from IMdB) is:

The battle between loggers and environmentalists is defining, dividing and destroying communities in Canada and around the world. The Green Chain is a powerful, funny and thought-provoking film about the conflicts between people on both sides of the battle who love trees — and are willing to risk anything to protect their personal visions of the forest, and our planet.

I haven’t seen the movie, but based on Mark’s writing and other performances, I’d say it’s a fairly safe bet it’s fantastic. He’s got a knack for writing brilliant scripts :)

Other things to check out: a write-up in Slice of Sci Fi, the official blog, and the MySpace site

When it comes out, see it. That’s as close to an order as I can give to a group of disembodied entities reading a blog.

I shall now return to the dungeon.

Merrily We Roll Along by MCM in RollBots / June 5th, 2007

If you want to know why I haven’t had time to post much in the last month*, read this and you should gain some insight.

All I can say is: Phew!

And, er, I still have many months left to go. But at least now you know why!

* Okay, my lack of posting isn’t related to that at all. It’s just a convenient excuse. Feh.
Also: I will definitely be posting the Swedish and Dutch translations of the Pig and Crow books, as well as the Panda book (honest!) sometime before the end of the summer!

Amberwood Site Re-Launch by MCM in RollBots / November 1st, 2006

The new website for Amberwood Entertainment launched today, partially due to stuff I may or may not have done. The key elements of the update were the ability to add new press releases easily, and to be able to edit the list of (oh, say) Properties in Development. The two of which will hopefully be coinciding with a search item on the sidebar of THIS site soon.

I should install an RSS feed for their press releases, shouldn’t I?

Sigh.

Goodbye, evening.

(I’m having a lot of trouble drawing a toilet for the Panda book, which I why I’m procrastinating wildly)
